Along with her unusual travelling companions - a dodo, a rat and, later, a dragon - Morag escapes her cruel foster parents to embark on a dangerous and exciting quest to find the Eye of Lornish and save the world from the wicked Devlish and his minions. The dialogue is refreshingly humorous and matter-of-fact and this Scottish-set fantasy wil appeal to boys and girls alike.”
